Akira Miyashita

Akira Miyashita (born October 8, 1953) is a Japanese manga artist. He debuted in early 1979 after winning an honorable mention in the Shonen Magazine newcomer award, and later that year began serializing Shiritsu Kyokudo Koko in Weekly Shonen Jump through an introduction by Hiroshi Motomiya. His best-known work, Sakigake!! Otokojuku (Charge!! Men's School), launched in the same magazine in 1985, became a major hit that ran for six years and filled 34 volumes.
