Daijiro Morohoshi

Daijiro Morohoshi (born 1949) is a Japanese manga artist born in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, who debuted in 1970 with 'Junko Kyohaku' in the magazine COM. In 1974 he won the 7th Tezuka Award with 'Seibutsu Toshi' and began serializing Yokai Hunter in Weekly Shonen Jump the same year, later publishing Ankoku Shinwa and Koshi Ankokuden in the magazine. Known for uncanny works drawing on ancient texts and legends, he won the Grand Prize of the 4th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2000 for Saiyu Yoenden.
