Go Nagai

Go Nagai (born 1945) is a Japanese manga artist from Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture. After working as an assistant to Shotaro Ishinomori, he debuted in 1967 with 'Meakashi Polikichi', and his representative works include Mazinger Z, Cutie Honey, Devilman, Harenchi Gakuen, and Abashiri Ikka; he boldly introduced sexuality and violence into shonen manga, greatly influencing later artists. He won the 4th Kodansha Manga Award in 1980 for Susano Oh and has been decorated with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette.
