Ikki Kajiwara
Ikki Kajiwara (real name Asaki Takamori; September 4, 1936 – January 21, 1987) was a Japanese manga writer, novelist and film producer who also used the pen name Asao Takamori. Known for stories of men's struggles in martial arts and sports, he rose to fame as the writer of Kyojin no Hoshi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1966, and is credited with establishing the 'spokon' (sports-guts) genre through works such as Ashita no Joe and Tiger Mask. His string of hits also included Karate Baka Ichidai and Samurai Giants.
