Ippei Minami
Born in 1947 in Kasaoka, Okayama, he debuted in the monthly magazine Garo while studying at Tokyo Designer Gakuin and won the magazine's newcomer prize. He received an honorable mention in the Tezuka Award in 1975 for 'Nekkyu no Hate ni...', and drew Hokuto no Kishi (1976-77) and Rock 'n Roll Monogatari (1981) in Weekly Shonen Jump. In the mid-1980s he returned to his hometown and turned to landscape painting.
