Koichi Iimori

Koichi Iimori (July 4, 1949 – May 14, 2008) was a Japanese manga artist born in Nishimera, Miyazaki Prefecture, and a graduate of Senshu University. Specializing in animal manga, he serialized Boku no Dōbutsuen Nikki in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1972, modeled on the zookeeper Toshio Nishiyama, and his best-known work is Race Bato 0777. He died of cerebral thrombosis in 2008 at the age of 58.
