Koji Asaoka
Koji Asaoka (born January 2, 1938) is a writer and journalist from Toyohara, Karafuto. Starting out as an advertising designer, Asaoka debuted as a manga artist in 1959 and is regarded as a pioneer of socially conscious gekiga; after a period as a scriptwriter, Asaoka turned in 1977 to novels, criticism and nonfiction, including books on health and medicine.
