Kotaro Komuro
Kotaro Komuro (October 1943 – 2017) was a Japanese manga artist from Miyagi Prefecture, whose real name was Yasutaka Komuro. Trained as a disciple of Osamu Tezuka from age 19 before going independent in 1968, he made his serial debut with Twilight Zone in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1969 and drew his best-known work, Worst, in the same magazine in 1970–71. Regarded as a pioneer of science-fiction manga, he returned to Jump in 1978 with Mikoto and later worked on animation at Tezuka Productions while shifting to historical and religious manga.
