Masaru Miyazaki

Masaru Miyazaki (born September 13, 1956, in Jōetsu, Niigata) is a Japanese manga writer who has used numerous pen names, including Miyazaki Masaru and Sharaku Maro. Selected for the 4th Weekly Shonen Magazine story-writing award in 1981, he became a full-time manga writer at 29 and wrote Metal Finish (1990–1991, art by Nobuhisa Tsuruoka) and Chikarabito Densetsu: Oni o Tsugu Mono (1992, art by Takeshi Obata) for Weekly Shonen Jump. His best-known works include Ningyō Sōshi Ayatsuri Sakon, adapted into an anime, and Black Jack Sōsaku Hiwa, ranked first in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2012.
