Masashi Kishimoto

Kishimoto was born in 1974 in Nagi, Okayama Prefecture; his twin brother Seishi Kishimoto is also a manga artist. He debuted after 'Karakuri' earned an honorable mention at the Hop Step Award in 1996, serialized his best-known work 'Naruto' in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1999 to 2014, and received the Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists from Japan's education ministry in 2015. He later handled the original story and supervision for the sequel 'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' and created 'Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru' (2019-2020).
