Sachio Umemoto
Sachio Umemoto (real name Yukio Umemoto; February 6, 1943 – September 6, 1993) was a Japanese manga artist and manga writer from Tosashimizu, Kochi Prefecture. After debuting in rental-book (kashihon) manga and working as an assistant to Tetsuya Chiba, he serialized Kujira Daigo in Weekly Shonen Jump from its inaugural 1968 issue. His representative works also include Apache Yakyugun, serialized in Shonen King from 1970 and turned into a hit anime the following year, as well as Little no Dan-chan and Tobenai Tsubasa.
