Soji Yamakawa

Soji Yamakawa (1908-1992), born in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, was a Japanese emonogatari (illustrated story) author who started out as a kamishibai artist and flourished in the postwar era. He is known for hits such as Shonen Oja and Shonen Kenya, the latter adapted into manga, radio, television, anime and film. His story "Koya no Shonen" was later adapted by Noboru Kawasaki into the manga Koya no Shonen Isamu.
