Tetsuo Hara

Tetsuo Hara (born September 2, 1961) is a Japanese manga artist, born in Shibuya, Tokyo and raised in Koshigaya, Saitama. After winning the Fresh Jump Award in 1982 with 'Super Challenger', he made his serial debut the same year with the motocross manga Tetsu no Don Quixote in Weekly Shonen Jump; Fist of the North Star (story by Buronson), launched in 1983, became a phenomenal hit that helped carry the magazine through the 1980s. From 1990 to 1993 he drew Hana no Keiji: Kumo no Kanata ni, based on a novel by Keiichiro Ryu, and has since frequently worked on historical manga.
