Yoichi Takahashi

Yoichi Takahashi (born July 28, 1960, in Katsushika, Tokyo) is a Japanese manga artist who has worked mainly on sports-themed series. He debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1980 with the one-shot Captain Tsubasa; serialized from the following year, the soccer manga became a hit, was adapted into a TV anime in 1983, and stands as his signature work. In April 2024 he announced his retirement from drawing manga, while continuing other creative activities.
