Yoshihiro Takahashi

Yoshihiro Takahashi (born September 18, 1953, in Higashinaruse, Akita Prefecture) is a Japanese manga artist regarded as the foremost creator of dog manga. He moved to Tokyo in 1971 to become an assistant to Hiroshi Motomiya, debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1972 with Shitamachi Benkei, and received an honorable mention in the 5th Tezuka Award in 1973. His signature series Silver Fang (Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin), begun in 1983, won the 32nd Shogakukan Manga Award in 1987 and is especially popular in Nordic countries such as Finland.
