Yusei Matsui

Yusei Matsui (born January 31, 1979, in Iruma, Saitama) is a Japanese manga artist who worked as an assistant to Yoshio Sawai. He debuted in 2004 with Neuro: Supernatural Detective, a runner-up in the Jump Jūniketsu newcomer award, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2005 to 2009 and adapted into a TV anime. His hit Assassination Classroom (2012–2016) received anime and film adaptations, and his historical series The Elusive Samurai (2021) won the 69th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2024.
